Printing Methods

DTG

DTG (Direct to Garment) involves printing fabric ink directly on to the garment. The look of the print is very similar to screen printing but has a softer feel. The colours are not applied indvidually but at the same time & can be mixed to produce any colour or gradient. To produce vibrant colours, white ink is printed as the base colour.

This is the most cost effective process for short runs - there is no setup charge or colour limit.

To use DTG the fabric must be cotton based.

Dick's Blues T-Shirts are printed by this method, click here to check them out.

Screen Printing

Screen printing is the ideal process for large quantities of printed T-Shirts.

The first colour screen is placed on top of the T-Shirt & a squeegee is pulled across the screen to push the ink onto the T-Shirt. This process is repeated with each colour required. One colour at a time is applied & therefore the cost increases with each additional colour. A separate screen is required for each colour making it uneconomical for small runs.

Excellent value for money for large orders.
